Join us for an evening of live poetry with an up-and-coming trio of young poets

During the evening, there will be a mix of live poetry readings and interviews with the poets.

Maxine Sibihwana

Maxine Sibihwana is a London-based poet and writer from Uganda, whose work explores shame, rage, love and grief. She was a member of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective in 2018/2019, the 2024 Born: Free Writers’ Collective, and the 2024/25 cohort of the Emerging Writers Programme with the London Library. Her debut poetry pamphlet, Sweet Ulcer, will be published by fourteen poems in March 2027.

Dillon Kalyabe

Dillon Kalyabe is a Newham-born, mixed-race visual artist. His work focuses on communicating class disparity through different mediums. His debut project Coal (2022) combined poetry, sketch and photography to challenge polished aestheticism within contemporary art, instead championing the ethos of ‘using what you have’. In a collaborative capacity he has worked with Louis Vuitton, SLOGhouse, The National Theatre, NCS and The Photographers’ gallery. He is currently working on a poetry collection planned for release in the second half of 2026.

Edward Adonteng

Edward Adonteng is an essayist, poet, grower and researcher from South London. Published as a Contemporary Ghanaian Poet (Contemporary Ghanaian Writers Series 2024), his poetry explores themes of time, identity and humanity, as well as a reckoning with self. He was made a Barbican Young Poet in 2025 and has been longlisted for the Forward Prize. His work has been published in CING Magazine and Make it Plain. He is currently working on his debut pamphlet.
